Die Cast 3D Metal Emblems
Zinc die casting gives this emblem its shape, with wall thickness and tolerance fixed in the tool. A repeatable route for badges that need the same profile run after run.
Description
Zinc die casting is the process behind most raised metal emblems. It sets real limits worth knowing before the artwork is drawn. Wall thickness in the cast section usually holds to 0.8-1.2mm. Overall tolerance runs around +/-0.10 to 0.20mm across the piece. Complex logos with fine relief or undercuts should account for this early.
Metals & surface options
Zinc alloy (Zamak) is the standard die-cast material for this route. Aluminum, stainless, and brass are used when a project calls for a different metal. Once cast, the surface takes chrome, gold, or nickel plating. Paint and PVD coatings such as gun-black or matte black are options too.
Typical projects
- Automotive badges cast to a fixed profile for repeat orders.
- Motorcycle and truck emblems that need the same shape run after run.
- Brand emblems for appliances and equipment housings.
- Decorative parts where casting keeps the shape consistent at volume.
Sizes we run
Cast emblems usually measure 30mm to 120mm overall. Thickness runs 2mm to 5mm, in common sizes of 40mm, 60mm, 80mm, and 100mm. Relief depth runs 0.5-3mm inside that thickness. Custom dimensions are cast to your drawing once the tool is confirmed.
Typical applications
| Industry / setting | How this product is used |
|---|---|
| Truck and trailer manufacturing | Heavy zinc alloy casting (4-6mm) with deep relief bolted to the grille frame, giving a model badge that stays legible from a distance on tall cab fronts. |
| Motorcycle assembly lines | Domed die-cast badge with 0.5-3mm relief letters mounted on each side of the fuel tank using rivet studs cast directly into the back of the part. |
| Passenger vehicle trim shops | Thin-wall zinc casting (1-2mm) for trunk lid or fender badges, keyed with locating pins so the part self-aligns during install. |
| Home appliance manufacturing | Small die-cast brand emblem with fine detail letters riveted to washer and dryer front panels during final assembly. |
| Outdoor power equipment | Cast brass or zinc emblem screwed to generator and mower engine covers, holding shape under vibration and engine heat. |
