Deep Engraved Metal Nameplates
Deep-cut engraved nameplates on thicker aluminum, steel, or brass, for bold lettering that survives repainting or heavy handling.
Description
Some plates need a mark you can feel with a fingertip, not just see. CNC engraving cuts deeper than a laser pass, suited to thicker aluminum, steel, or brass blanks. Himgo runs this route for bold, raised-feel lettering. It also suits a plate that gets repainted several times over its service life.
Applications
- Plates repainted or resurfaced multiple times over the equipment’s life
- Bold lettering meant to stay legible even under a coat of grease
- Heavy machinery ID plates on thicker steel or brass stock
- Decorative or raised-look text where a shallow mark reads too flat
Material and finish choices
Thicker stock, generally 1-3mm, gives the engraving room to cut deeper without weakening the plate. Aluminum, stainless steel, and brass all take a deep-cut mark. Filled text in a contrasting paint is common after engraving; natural or brushed surfaces work without fill.
Standard size guide
Sizes from 100x60mm to 200x100mm are common for this route, since larger plates suit the bolder line width. Thinner or smaller custom sizes are possible from your drawing.
Typical applications
| Industry / setting | How this product is used |
|---|---|
| Machine tool beds and lathes | Deep-engraved plates stay legible where operators repeatedly brush against the surface with rags and solvents during cleaning. |
| Firefighting and rescue apparatus | Deep-engraved ID plates resist abrasion from hose lines and gear being dragged across the mounting surface. |
| Oilfield wellhead components | Deep-engraved plates on valve bodies hold their markings against sand and grit exposure that wears away shallow engraving. |
| Foundry and forging equipment | Deep-engraved data plates near high-heat, high-abrasion work areas stay legible where standard surface marking wears off quickly. |
