Custom Chrome Car Emblems

Chrome car emblems get their glossy surface from a plating stack over a die-cast or stamped zinc-alloy base.

Description

Chrome finish reads as one glossy surface, but underneath it is a plating stack applied over a die-cast or stamped base. An even, mirror-bright look depends on the base metal’s surface prep as much as the plating itself. Himgo controls both steps before a badge ships.

Metals & surface options

Zinc alloy is the usual base for chrome-look automotive badges – its cast surface takes plating evenly. Nickel or chrome plating runs 5-25 micron, built up in layers rather than a single coat. Stainless steel is an alternative where a brushed-under-chrome look is wanted instead of full gloss.

Typical projects

  • Hood, trunk, and fender chrome logo badges
  • Chrome trim emblems on grilles and mirrors
  • Motorcycle tank and fender chrome badges
  • Dealer or accessory chrome badges
  • Two-tone chrome-and-paint emblems

Sizes we run

Chrome badges fall mostly in the 40-80mm range, with thickness 2-4mm – thin enough to keep the plating line even across the surface. Larger badges may need a slightly thicker base to avoid plating pooling at the edges.
