Description
Aluminum weighs a fraction of steel, which matters when a tag rides on a moving part. A barcode tag on aluminum keeps that weight advantage while carrying a standard 1D barcode that most existing scanners already read. Sizes & thickness
Aluminum barcode tags run thin, generally 0.3-1mm. 25x25mm and 40x15mm are common — the narrower size suits a single-line barcode without wasted border. Thickness and size follow a drawing where a standard size doesn’t fit.
Metals and finishes
Anodized aluminum is the default, colored or natural, since anodizing gives the print or laser mark a stable surface. Brushed and matte finishes hide fingerprints and light scratching on parts handled often.
