Description
A linear barcode needs enough flat width for the bars to stay separated at the scanner’s read distance. Aluminum asset tags give that flat, laser-markable surface across a production batch. Each tag in the batch can carry its own sequential barcode value.

Material and finish choices
Matte or natural anodized aluminum keeps glare down, which helps handheld scanners read the bars. Brushed finish is an option where the tag also needs to look clean on display. Bar width and the quiet zone on each side get checked against your scanner model before marking starts.
Standard size guide
75x25mm and 50x20mm are common widths for a barcode plus a short text line. Rounder shapes are not practical for linear codes. Thickness runs 0.3-1.5mm. Larger formats can be cut to match your drawing.
