Description
Rear badges sit on the trunk lid or tailgate, usually flat against painted metal with no predrilled holes to work around. Adhesive mounting is the default here, so the back face and film thickness matter as much as the front finish. Himgo sets the bond area to the badge shape before casting or forming.
Build options
Zinc alloy die-casting suits raised rear logos; nickel electroforming gives a thinner shell where trunk clearance is tight. Chrome, gold, or nickel plating runs 5-25 micron; PVD gun-black or matte-black finishes skip a wet-plating line entirely. 3M/VHB adhesive film is matched to the badge’s back-face area and contour.
Common dimensions
Rear emblems run 60mm to 100mm across, with thickness between 2mm and 4mm to keep adhesive bond strength adequate on a curved tailgate. Larger badges may need a stiffening rib on the back. Confirm the panel curvature so the adhesive layer sits flat.
